A Canadian Icon: Chrono Aviation Adds a Dash 8-300 to Its Fleet

Chrono Aviation continues its expansion with the addition of a De Havilland Canada DHC-8-300 (Dash 8-300) to its fleet, further enhancing its versatility in Canada's air charter industry.

This Canadian-built regional turboprop airliner can accommodate up to 50 passengers. Available for charter operations, the Dash 8-300 offers a payload capacity of 12,500 lb and is capable of operating from gravel runways serving remote locations.

“We are extremely proud to welcome the Dash 8-300 to our fleet. In fact, our clients have been asking for this aircraft. It is an outstanding performer in every respect and allows us to meet a wide range of operational needs.”

Vincent Gagnon, President, Chrono Aviation

“Adding a new aircraft is always an important milestone for Chrono, but it is also a moment that brings our teams together, creates new opportunities for our clients, and reflects the remarkable work accomplished by our employees.”

Dany Gagnon, Vice President, Chrono Aviation

The Dash 8-300 is well suited to a broad range of missions, including fly-in/fly-out operations, northern resupply, sports team transportation, and group travel.

Safety at the Highest Standard: BARS

The Dash 8-300 has earned a longstanding reputation for safety and operational efficiency. Since its introduction, the Dash family has been recognized as an industry benchmark, particularly for its ability to operate reliably in Canada's demanding environments.

At Chrono Aviation, safety extends far beyond aircraft selection. The company is proud to once again have renewed its BARS Gold certification under the Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) program administered by the Flight Safety Foundation (FSF). The BARS audit is an internationally recognized verification process that demonstrates Chrono Aviation's commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.

“Since day one at Chrono, safety has been at the heart of everything we do. Of course, that's because we operate in aviation, but also because we hold ourselves to standards that go well beyond regulatory requirements. Achieving BARS certification is a reflection of the commitment we've upheld since 2012.”

Entering Service in August

The aircraft will enter service in August and will be available for charter operations. It will be based at the Montréal Metropolitan Airport, just 20 minutes from downtown Montréal, while remaining available for deployment anywhere to meet clients' operational requirements.
